Argentina has recently shown support for Syria although Argentina recently had shown a timid viewpoint. Argentina recently declared that no military intervention from foreign countries should be used on Syria, and has sided with the Russians. The country has disappointed the UN, but sides with Syria’s use of nuclear weapons, despite other countries’ wishes.

The beginning of the problem with Syria was when the government starting thinking of the opposition of the people as Islamic terrorist acts, and started to invade privacy and start to shoot randomly into mass crowds. Then, Syria started to develop nuclear weapons, which caused the UN to become anxious. The people of Syria are also starting to flee to neighboring countries to avoid potential problems from the government. This issue is important to the UN because not only are the country’s peoples afraid to be in their own state, but nuclear weapons could cause horrible damage if any country wants to try to fight the government. The UN is about the rights of the people in the world, and nuclear weapons can threaten those rights. The previous actions taken include trying to compromise and also threats from other countries about war, including the United States. The threats about war have almost come true a couple times, most recently in September, where the President of the United States had to decide whether or not to take action against Syria. None of these actions have been carried out yet, but Syria has stopped threatening to take nuclear action against other countries, so the UN has succeeded in managing to stall or stop major nuclear threats. The problems that are still going on include the Civil War that’s still raging in Syria, and Syria still having the ability to make the major nuclear weapons. No one has proposed a solution for Syria, and tensions are still there concerning international relations with Syria.

A way to help stop these tensions with Syria could include a treaty between Syria and a country it trusts, and then a treaty between that country and other countries, so that if the country can’t attack the other countries, neither can Syria. The UN could also try to help come up with a compromise concerning the Civil War in Syria and how to regain the people lost. The UN could talk to the official government and be a neutral spokesperson for the opposition, and manage to find a way to solve their issues. The global impact of using these solutions would be that the world would be able to have a compromise and not constantly have to worry about nuclear threats. The people in Syria would also be able to feel safe, and the UN would have the peoples’ support for fixing these problems.
